Vermicelli is a commonly consumed produce in all households. It is prepared from wheat semolilna or refined wheat flour by a process of kneading, cold extrusion and drying.
The market of the product is vast. They find placement in all self-service counters, departmental stores, “A” and “B” class retail outlets of groceries and provisions.
A.R.R Group
The A.R.R. Group was founded in the year 1947, by late Sri. A.R.Ramaswamy, Ex. Member of Legislative Assembly, Tamil Nadu and Ex. Chairman of Kumbakonam Municipality. It is the basic Culture, Tradition and Custom of the Tamilians to use Betels with Seeval (sliced Arecanut / Betelnut) for extending hospitality to the guest and exchanging the same at auspicious occasions like betrothal, marriage etc., So, our beloved founder selected “SEEVAL (Arecanut Slices)” as the first product of this group with an initial investment of around half a lakh rupees with six workers. The product which was made manually was very thick and less smooth, which restricted the users of Seeval. Later in 1950’s, the operation was modernized by introducing the electrically driven slicing machines, which is the first of its kind. We are the pioneers in inventing this Arecanut Slicing Machine which made the product thinner and hence softer for chewing. |
